VOLUNTEERS - NEED TO KNOW
The Walk of Life is a wonderful volunteer opportunity. We can't do it without your help!
You'll be making a difference in an annual event that raises breast cancer awareness and funds to help the Joy to Life Foundation continue providing free breast cancer screenings for the medically underserved in Alabama!
Volunteer registration is free and includes a special volunteer shirt. Volunteers are required to wear their volunteer shirt during their assignment. Our Volunteer Coordinator will make sure you receive your shirt at the appropriate time. If you are a volunteer registered as a part of a team (and the team qualifies to pick up their shirts early) your volunteer shirts will not be included in this early team pick-up.
We need all types of volunteers in the weeks and months leading up to the Walk of Life and throughout the day of the event because we have such a wide variety of opportunities available. There literally is something for everyone! We’re looking for both men and women 18 and older, and welcome individuals as well as groups.
Register early - - we need to plan well in advance so that all volunteer assignments are covered. We encourage large groups to create a team and our staff will try to keep the group together on the same volunteer assignment, if possible - - however, we cannot guarantee that your entire group will be given the same assignment.
Volunteers who are survivors will receive the volunteer cotton shirt and during the online registration process there is an opportunity for volunteers to purchase the pink survivor shirt.
