The WALK OF LIFE 5K RUN/WALK (ages 6 and up) will begin promptly at 8:30 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2022, Please arrive at the stage by 8:00. The Kids Zone will begin after the 5K race inside Riverfront Park near the front of the Amphitheater stage. The Kids Zone is FREE for all children 8 years old or younger.
STARTING LINE: Tallapoosa Street at the water tower and The Alley.
Finish line: Commerce Street near Sa Za Restaurant and The Renaissance Hotel.
pre-register check-in (Friday): Pre-registered individual participants may pick up their race bib and shirt on Friday, October 14th from 10 AM - 6 PM at the Biscuits Stadium in downtown Montgomery. You may have someone else pick up your race materials for you if you are unable to come during this date/time. If someone from your team did not pick up your race materials early, they will be available during this same date/time. One person from the team is welcomed to pick up materials for all members.

5K Late Registration closes at 8am. Kids Zone pre-registration will continue inside Riverfront Park near the Amphitheater.
Wristbands: Your registration fee includes your race bib that gains access to the special entertainment/food /vendors. During the online registration process, you can purchase a $10.00 Walk of Life wristband that can be used by family/friend who is not registered as a participant for the Walk of Life but who wants to come and support you. By wearing the wristband, they will have access to the special entertainment/vendors.
The route: The 5K course is USATF certified, with the starting line on Tallapoosa Street at the water tower and the finish line on Commerce Street near by Sa Za Restaurant and The Renaissance Hotel.
Weather: The Walk of Life will take place rain or shine, unless weather conditions become severe (storms with lightening). In the event of inclement weather, post race party activities will be moved to the Union Station Train Shed. All registration fees are non-refundable even if the event is canceled due to weather.
Water stations: Official water stations will be located at the halfway point on the 5K at Adams Street (across from the AL Cattlemen's Association) and at the Finish Line. As in past years, there may be additional, smaller water stations along the route, provided by some of our great Joy to Life Foundation supporters. Water and other refreshments will be available throughout Riverfront Park during the After Party.
Bathrooms: Portalets will be available along the sidewalk on Commerce St. just by the Tunnel. Restrooms are also available at the Union Station Train Shed and inside Riverfront Park.
Parking: Complimentary parking is available in all City parking decks on October 15. We suggest you come early to allow time to find your parking space and have plenty of time to check-in and reach the starting line. Several streets will be blocked off closer to the start of the Walk so please take this into consideration as you plan your drive into Montgomery that morning.
Dogs | Strollers: Dogs, strollers, & wagons are welcomed at the event. For the safety of everyone, dogs must be on a short leash. We also ask that you bring appropriate doggy bags to pick up after your special friend. When lining up to start the Run/Walk, we ask that all participants with strollers and/or dogs please line up in the back of the crowd.
Chip timing: Chip timing is included in the cost of registration and provided by About Time Events. All paid participants are eligible for prizes and awards. HOWEVER, per USATF guidelines all prizes and awards are based on gun time (not chip time).
Cash prizes/awards: An awards ceremony will be held at 10 AM at the Amphitheater Stage. A cash prize of $150 will be awarded to the top overall male and female finishers. Additional awards will be given to the first place male and female finishers in each of the following age categories: under 12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and over 70. Prizes and awards are based on gun time per USATF guidelines.
